History
Spirit Hotels & Apartments was founded over 35 years ago in Burgos as a family business with the dream of creating something more than just accommodation. With hard work and dedication, our first project, Hotel Ciudad de Burgos, was the beginning of an adventure that led us to expand with the opening of Hotel Gran Bilbao in 2009.
In 2015, we started a new chapter with a new people-focused management model. WE ARE INSIDE is a philosophy that puts people at the centre of every experience, working from within, from the heart, to create unique memories for our customers.
At the same time as the pandemic hit, we decided to offer our know-how and experience to other accommodation who were looking to improve their results or turn their business around. This is how Spirit Hospitality Global Business was born, a new concept in hospitality consulting with an innovative working methodology based on our WE ARE INSIDE philosophy.
Over time, we expanded our horizons by opening apartments in Bilbao and Valladolid, embracing new ways of travelling. In 2024 we took on the management of third-party hotels, such as Hotel Benalmádena Beach, setting a new milestone in our history as hotel and apartment managers, as well as owners.
Spirit Hotels&Apartments was launched in 2025, a brand that captures our essences, our passion for people and our unique way of turning every stay into a meaningful experience. Spirit continues to bring the same enthusiasm and desire in everything it undertakes, with a very clear methodology and values, always ensuring “being inside”.
2025 marks another milestone along the way: our international growth, with the acquisition and management of a hotel in Monte Real, Portugal, the Spirit Fonte Real.
